Alexander Burrows

Alexander Burrows with rhinos in South AfricaAlexander Burrows graduated from the IB program at the Cobequid Educational Centre in Truro, June 2009 in the top of his class. He went directly into the second year of the Pre-Vet program at the Nova Scotia Agricultural College as an Atlantic Scholar where he made the President’s List both semesters. In May/June 2010, Alexander spent seven weeks in South Africa with a wildlife vet and a game capture team where he was able to work with rhinos, leopards, cheetahs, antelopes, buffalo, etc. It was while he was in the wilds of Africa that he received word that he had been accepted at the Atlantic Veterinary College in Charlottetown, PEI. Alexander has now completed the first two years of the program and continues to place in the top of his class and on the Dean’s List..

Alexander has twice been a member of the Animal Welfare Team, which has placed third each year, at an international competition held in Michigan each fall. He is currently the Co-President of the Bovine Club and President of the Small Ruminant Club at the AVC.

Alexander expects to graduate in May 2014 with his Doctor of Veterinary Medicine.

Thanks to the International Baccalaureate Program and the teachers at CEC that offered Alexander challenges and excellence in education giving him the opportunity to excel.
