Curriculum
The IB Diploma curriculum is comprised of 3 core requirements and 6 subject groups.
The three core requirements are:
- The Theory of Knowledge (TOK) Course: an interdisciplinary course designed to develop critical reflections on the nature of knowledge and on how we know what we claim to know. Connections are made between knowledge encountered in the different Diploma Programme subjects, in creativity, action, service experience or extended essay research
- The Creativity, Activity and Service (CAS) Program: students complete projects related to creativity, activity and service
- The Extended Essay (EE): a 4000-word piece of original research on a topic chosen by the student
These 3 requirements are compulsory and are central to the IBDP’s philosophy. They are what make the IB Diploma program unique.
